Too Weird

A funny story that I thought I'd share. We recently adopted a new kitten (3 days ago). Well, our older cat, Maddy, who we've had for over a year now is not very happy and well, let's just say she has an attitude problem. She has been showing us her unhappiness by knocking things off tables, dressers and such. Came home yesterday and she had knocked a ceramic apple off of the top of my refrigerator and it had shattered on the floor. Anyway, last night, Blair and I were laying in my bed watching American Idol and I heard a crash. Didn't think much of it until, about an hour later, Blair had fallen asleep so I was carrying her to her bed. I went to lay her down and discovered that her bed was soaking wet. I realized that Maddy had knocked the fish bowl off of Blairs bookshelf. I put Blair back in my bed and went to check out the damage. Bed wet, bowl on the floor and beta fish.....gone! So, being ready for bed and too tired to deal with it, I looked around for the beta and didn't see it anywhere, I just assumed it was dead anyway and the cat probably ate it, so I went to bed.
When I got up this morning, I went into Blairs room to clean up the mess and wash her bedclothes. Took everything off the bed and put it in the washer. Still no fish. Until, I moved the mattress away from the wall and there was the poor Beta fish, STUCK TO THE WALL! I went a got a paper towel, prepared to throw it away. Grabbed the fish and it moved. That fished had survived being stuck to a wall for 9 hours! I put him in the fishbowl, added a couple bottles of water and that crazy fish started swimming around. I have always heard that beta's are hard to kill, but this is crazy. The fish looks a little exhausted, but is still kicking. I'm anxious to see if he survives today.
I know this blog entry has nothing to do with ph0tography, but I just thought I'd share and who knows, if the fish makes it through the day, maybe I'll post a picture of the little guy ( or girl, it is purple)
